Red Rock Relay

Last weekend we ran the Red Rock Relay with a few of our friends and it was a BLAST!! Each team has 12 people- 2 vans of 6, and you run a total of 186 miles.. We started up at Brian Head ski resort and ended at Zions National Park. It took us 30 hours and we got a total of 2-3 hours of sleep. Doesn't sound too fun but it really was one of the funnest trips we've ever been on!

JD after his last run.. good job Babe:)

4:00 a.m. getting ready to run our final legs! wooo!

You got a stripe for each leg you ran. These were hard earned stripes!

Our team name "Don't act like you're not impressed" from Anchor Man:)

Escalante

This summer JD and I went to Escalante to go hiking and canyoneering! It was so much fun and so risky:) We camped in our backpacking tent and hiked and rappelled all day long. We tied our gear around a rock and hoped that it held as we rappelled down the cliff! I was so nervous on the first one- I for sure thought the rock would be comin down with us, but sure enough it worked! We also hiked through slot canyons that were sooo skinny. There were a few points where JD had to suck in and shove his body through. If you're at all claustrophobic, you don't wanna hike these canyons!

JD getting ready to do an 80ft rappel off of a rock!

It was so narrow JD's hips couldn't fit!
